Our Summer Adventures

Grenada - West Indies

It has been a long time coming but finally I got the chance to blog our trip to Grenada this summer. Well what can I say, we had the best two weeks with friends and were so sad to leave. It was great to see the sunsets, spend time on the beach, visit a cocoa plantation, relax in the sun, drive around Grenada's crazy roads, see our friends..... this list is endless. So i thought it best to come up with a few highlights. Here Goes!!
1 - Snorkelling - Richard loved jumping in the sea with snorkelling gear to see what he could see. One day it was a spotted eel, next a spine fish and a huge starfish. I liked to swim quickly in the other direction when I saw anything that look bigger than a goldfish but must still admit it was cool seeing tropical fish in their natural environment.

2 - Swimming in waterfalls - We visited a couple of really nice waterfalls where we were able to swim in the pools below. I wasn't really brave enough to dive in and used being pregnant as an excuse to just swim and paddle by the side. Richard practiced his diving techniques and enjoying the thrill of entering the water at great speed.

3 - Swimming & Doggies - This one is really Evie's highlight. Everyday she would shout for the Dogs that lived in the appartment next to us. By the end of our trip she was calling them 'my doggies' and giving them cuddles. Her other favourite part of our trip was swimming. She loved it and has no fear of the water.

4 - Evenings in, falling asleep early and playing pro-evolution football - I was the one falling asleep early while Richard passed the evening challenging Matt to Pro-Evo competitions. I not sure who ended up holding 'the belt'! One evening there was a great sunset so I walked up the road to try and catch some pictures.

5- A surprise party - I turned 30 at the end of August and Maria and Richard planned a little surprise party for me. Mexican food, a brownie pyramid cake, a quiz all about me, all our friends, and Happy Birthday played on the steel pans. Other than to always stay at 21 I don't think there was anything else I could ask for!

6 - Being with our BFF's- Our list of highlights could go on and on but the best things has to have been spending time with all our friends and especially Matthew and Maria. We miss you guys and hope to plan many more holidays together in various places around the globe. Thanks for letting us stay with you and making our trip fantastic.
