Chocolate Heaven

As I am sure all (or at least most) of us agree chocolate is the nicest treat after a long day at work. Well Evie agrees as well.....

What was originally a Cadbury's chocolate finger didn't last for very long, although I don't think much of the chocolate made it to her stomach!!

Welcome 2009 and thanks for 2008

Well it seems we have achieved a lot in 2008 and we would be very ungrateful if we didn't say thanks for a all that we have been blessed with during this past year.

  • Thanks for a wonderful little brown eyed girl who fills our lifes with fun and laughter each day.

  • Thanks for Richard finally being in his final year of school -- the end is in sight!!

  • Thanks for having a new lovely bathroom that works without leaking into our dining room and is no longer green and scruffy.

  • Thanks for being able to travel the world, catch up with old friends in far away places, enjoy the views of the Grand Canyon, quad bike in the hills of Utah and relax in the swimming pools of Las Vegas.

  • Thanks for all the new friends we have made this year, we are sorry you have to leave us but we will look forward to keeping in touch over the many years to come and meeting again in various cities around the world.

So in 2009 we are looking forward to lots of exciting adventures. Finishing our DIY Project house is top of the list, along with travelling to new and exciting places. Richard will finish school and hopefully find a job as a Physcothearpist. and I would love to become a part-time teacher and spend more time at home with Evie. Lets see how the year turns out.

Evies 1st Birthday

Well as I'm sure you all know Christmas Day is also Evie's birthday so this year we decided to go ahead and celebrate both on the same day. It was just a little bit hectic and definitely overwhelming for the little 1 year old. We kept Christmas to the morning and afternoon and then when 5pm came it was birthday time. We opened extra presents (all wrapped in birthday paper) and then had a cake. It was a nice small family affair but Evie was so tired of opening presents by then that she just cried. I have a feeling that next year will have to be different and that a half birthday on June 25th is on the cards for some time in the future. Anyone with any other suggestions about how to make Christmas Day special as a birthday feel free to let me know!!

Her very special Iggle Piggle Cake - An 'In the night garden' character for those who don't know who he is. He is one of Evie's favourite TV Characters, she takes him to bed every night! We seemed to unintentionally have an 'In the night garden' theme with most of her presents being toys from the TV series. Thanks to everyone for her lovely Birthday presents.
